The Christmas Spirit is alive!

Okay so I was on my way to Walgreen's tonight when the Christmas spirit started. I was in the turn lane behind 2 other cars. A small sedan and a SUV. The light turns green and the sedan does not turn immediately so the SUV burns rubber and turns in front of her. We are all driving towards Walgreen's and in the parking lot the Christmas spirit starts. And here is how it is played out:
Father of the girl in sedan we'll call him dad #1
Father of small boy in SUV we'll call him dad #2
and me well we'll call me Trina lol

dad#1 "What is your problem My daughter is 16 and a student driver"
dad#2 "Maybe you should teach her how to drive"
Dad #1 " She is 16 you really want a driver like you on the streets"
Trina gets out of her car and walks briskly towards the two fathers
Trina "Guys it's the Holidays"
they continue to argue in front of the Walgreen's
Trina raises her voice "Guys It is Christmas, it's the holidays"
They continue to argue
Trina " Listen it is the Holidays and you have children here, now stop it don't do this in front of them!"
They pause walk away and a few other things are said to each other in the store.
I go about my business and see the young girl I tap her on her arm to see if she is okay. She replies yes.
Her father thanks me.
My hands are trembling i am so upset with the situation.
As I am checking out I am telling the cashier what happened. As I tell her that i was so upset i was almost in tears, by the way these two fathers acted towards each other in front of their children dad #2 walks by. I only hope he heard me ex specially the part were i said "What are they teaching their children".

I am proud of myself as a mother and person.
I hope they think about how they acted tonight when they are laying down to go to sleep. Was there really anything at Walgreen's that important?

This poem was written by a Marine.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
'SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS.'

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.

I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, 'CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE.'

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
'MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.'

The really good news is no matter what I make on my test next week I will make an A. Finally an A in a college course. I honestly thought if I could just get a C in this class I would be happy. I am literally floating on air right now! So if I can do it with two kids bugging me 24/7 then anyone can do it! I have actually besides having my babies never been so proud of myself. So anyways I wanted to brag to everyone. So thank you for listening. Yeah!!!!!!!! I feel like a Rock Star right now!

My son and Father

So I was at my Parents this weekend looking through their photo albums. As I was flipping throw the pages I see a picture of my son. Well at first glance he sure did look like him, when in actuality it was my Dad's baby picture. So here is the proof Tyler looked like me as a baby and Dylan is my dad reincarnated!

Thanksgiving!

So Yesterday We hosted Thanksgiving. We ended up having 30 people at our house. We had a great time. We had a southern style Thanksgiving. We even order a Smoked turkey and a brisket from Coopers Barbecue in Texas. It was a huge hit, and oh so Yummy! I had also purchased some Nuvo a great girlie drink! Which is also Brook Shields favorite drink. I understand why! So after all the hustle and bustle and everyone left let the games begin. We get the kids to bed, and we get tucked in to bed. About eleven o'clock my mom comes in and tells us Tyler Can't breath. I go down stairs were my dad is trying to console him. I try to give him some medicine but he is not having it. I take him up to our bed and i still can't get him to calm down he is tugging at is ears and screaming. We turn on Toy Story cause there is nothing Like Woody and Buzz to make life better. He finally stops crying. Brian and I proceed to fall asleep when at 1:20 am, Tyler starts screaming again. So make the story short I proceed to the hospital with him kicking and screaming. When we get there he wants nothing to do with anyone. He has the start of an ear infection, sore throat, but his airway was narrowing so they decide to give him a breathing treatment. This was really cool to Tyler cause he got a dinosaur mask and could breath smoke. He is fine now just on benedryl, antibiotics, and an inhaler. He got some sleep and as good as new!

The Eleventh Hour

So Dylan decided yesterday at 3am that he wanted to stay up until 12:00 in the afternoon. The entire time he only took about two 30 min naps. Then he slept while i drove Tyler to school and back home. Did he stay asleep nope but on the way to pick up Tyler he took a cat nap. We get home and he stays up! So my life right now is one up one down! Because at this point Tyler is sleeping. So Tyler wakes up about 5:30 pm. Around 6:30 Dylan is getting CRANKY so I make a bottle, turn on cartoons for Tyler, and proceed up stairs with Dylan He snakes on his bottle and around 7pm goes nightie. It was 5:30 am when i here a cute little cooing noise. It was my sweet baby he sleep for almost eleven hours. Yeah, but as I am talking i have a present he wants to give to me so I must go back to mommy land!

If You Live In Texas This is a must

I have a friend who is a photographer in Texas. She lives in the Valley but she does absolutely BREATHTAKING photography. I get emotional when I see them! So If you or someone you know is Getting Married, Pregnant, Have Kids, Or just need pictures done She is the one to call on. We were lucky enough to have her take Tyler's pictures when she was visiting her family up here when Tyler was 2.
She is so good that if I won the Lottery she would be on my payroll if you don't believe me just check her work out at http://signaturecollections.blogspot.com/ . You will be Amazed at the awesome Talent and natural eye she has for photography. If you do have her take your pictures just tell her I sent you. I will get nothing for it but the enjoyment of knowing you have wonderful and memorable photos. I even asked my husband if we could get remarried so she could take our photos. You can imagine what is answer was. LOL

Our first night of Sleep

So this morning I wake up and I look at the clock 7:58am. First thought I don't remember hearing Dylan crying.
In a slight panic I turn to Brian and ask
"Did you get up with Dylan?"
Brian "No"
me "Neither did I"
I turn the Monitor on and can not see Dylan. I jump up and go to his room. Only to find him laying there chewing on his hand. He looks up and gives me a big smile. I grab him up and give him a big mommy kiss and say "Your first night sleeping through, what a big boy you are!" I proceed to change his diaper and carry him down stairs. We then celebrate with Peaches for breakfast.
I have a feeling there are still going to be those 4am feeding but Dylan must have known Mommy and Daddy really needed the sleep. My message to Dylan: Thank you son, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Did I mention Thank you?
And her is a picture of our momentous occasion!

This is Dylan's Political view at three months. He will probably grow up and be in the young republicans! lol

Tyler's Melt down

So today I had a client coming over for a color, she has 4 kids but she only had her 4 year old and 2 year old with her today. This worked out wonderful for Tyler he finally had someone to play with besides Sydney (our mini dachshund). At about 11:30 it was time to go to preschool. Tyler was not having it he wanted to stay and play with the other kids. It could not have worked out any better cause at that time The kids grandpa came to pick them up. I tried to rationalize with my 3 year old son that Ashley and Ryan were leaving, and that if he stayed he would miss school and have no one to play with. I got the typical 3 year old answer. "But Why" So Brian just grabs him and puts him in the car. Brian said that a few blocks away he finally stopped crying. By the time they got to school Tyler has forgotten all about wanting to stay home. All I can say is Three year olds you can not rationalize with them!

Burpalicious

Okay so about a year ago I started making burp cloths for all my friends having babies. they have been a huge hit and my friends have inspired me to sell them. I never liked your typical cutie baby prints. It must be the fashionista in me. So most of my prints are non traditional trend burp cloths. I did a craft show this summer and had a good response to it. So I have now expanded my store to include Baby gift sets. In the set you will get a Baby blanket, Burp cloth, and a bib. I can also (for an additional fee) monogram the set. You can check outmy work at www.burpalicious.etsy.com So if you are expecting a baby and you get a package in the mail guess what it just might be?
